Physiologia Plantarum

Physiologia Plantarum is an international journal of SPPS committed to publishing the best full-length original research papers that advance our understanding of the primary physiological, molecular and genetic mechanisms governing plant development, growth and productivity; including plant interactions with biotic and abiotic environment and global change biology (see full scope here). Physiologia Plantarum also publishes different article types such as Reviews, Minireviews, Technical Advance papers, Viewpoints, Resource articles and Special Issues that focus on recent advances in a selected field.
 
Physiologia Plantarum has maintained Q1 status in the Plant Sciences category of Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate) for over 20 years.

The Journal is edited by Editor-in-Chief Yrjö Helariutta, University of Helsinki, Finland, together with a distinguished international Editorial Board of Subject Editors and Decision Editors. The editorial office is located in Lund, Sweden, where it was originally established in 1948. Physiologia Plantarum is currently published and distributed in cooperation with Wiley. Matters related to the journal in SPPS are primarily handled by the journal responsible member of the SPPS Council. 

 

In the case of an open access publication not being covered by Plan S transitional deals, corresponding authors who are SPPS members within the Nordic countries can apply for coverage of the APC fees.

‌Physiologia Plantarum Prize

The Physiologia Plantarum Prize recognizes a scientist who has made outstanding contributions to plant science in the areas that are covered by Physiologia Plantarum. This could be either lifetime- or recent breakthrough-type of contributions. The Physiologia Plantarum Prize is open to researchers all over the world and also non SPPS-members can be nominated.
